Rural Cuisine in New Jersey , March 7th 2010
Thanks to Allison, my Manhattan cooking host, I met Beth and Rob M. and cooked for their friends and some co-workers of Beth on March 7th in their Mahwah, New Jersey home. My warm and welcoming hosts gathered together a fun group of young couples and we started the evening off with my DVD on the rural people of Umbria, rural landscapes and the colorful local markets. I want the DVD to visually express the spirit of Umbrian rural cooking. After that, on to the actual creation of an Umbrian rural meal as participants learned to taste, then add ingredients “q.b” (“quanto basta”)until hitting right on the flavors desired. Top results from this “gruppo molto simpatico”. Thanks to all and don’t forget: reunion dinner next year at our farmhouse in Assisi!
