Cheryl and I had met on the steps of an Assisi cafe’ last spring: how good to cook with Cheryl, her friend Jana and their other friends in the home of Jana and husband Avi in Scottsdale, Arizona! This delightful class included Maureen and her mother Therese who had toured with me in Assisi: once again, creating an Umbrian rural feast together proved to be the perfect way to re-connect. What fun, what laughs! Roberta and Andy explored Umbria with me years ago and dropped in for a quick “ciao”… or so they thought: They had to taste each dish we had prepared and join the company. Dee, participant in the Assisi Elderhostel programs which I directed for years, joined in for the tiramisu, bringing as a gift homemade limoncello.
My only complaint? Jana, next time, let US clean up! (Once a caterer, Jana is a dynamo in the kitchen!).
Cheryl, Jana and Avi, mille, mille grazie!
