My passione for Umbria’s rural life and rural cuisine was not waning as I started the final cooking class of my 2014 7-week coast-to-coast U.S. cooking classes/lectures tour. Was I tired, though? A bit. But Mary, the enthusiasm – and warm welcome – of your Brookeville. MD. women’s cooking group was a catalyst, an energy-charger! I felt that “group energy” right away, as we gathered for the pre-cooking talk on Umbria, our rural life there and the Umbrian women who have taught me about cooking – and life.
And such “collective elation” in the kitchen as we put together our feast. In just a few words, one of our cooks, Liz, summed up this 2014 gran finale cooking class:
“What a great day of cooking, laughing, talking and eating great food!”
…and mille grazie to Mary and to each of you for making this gran finale truly… GRANDE. No, grandissimo!
