“‘The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it’ Ralph Waldo Emerson,” reads the plaque near the entry to the home of Kathy and Bruce in East Haddam, Connecticut. No better words to describe their home as those two quite simply embody hospitality. I had felt it last fall as soon as I met them at their rented country house outside of Torgiano, the tiny Umbrian hilltown where Kathy and Bruce hosted their friends for a memorable Umbrian stay: I was their guide. What hosts, what a group! I had felt embraced by all in Umbria. Cooking together in Connecticut was the perfect reunion. A joy to be with you all again and thanks for making it happen, Kathy and Bruce.
