Hosts Kathy and Steve at the burners
Six years ago, I met Kathy, Steve and daughter Carolyn, over flowers (literally): they all joined my Umbrian
Infiorate.
FESTAtour centered on Spello’s astounding floral petal carpets festival. Now we meet over food: Kathy and Steve are often hosts for my U.S. culinary events in private homes. This year, they hosted two events, a dinner and a lunch (two different menus). Their guests catch their enthusiasm: what a group we had chatting in the kitchen of their spacious Washington apartment while preparing their dinner, teaming up on salad chopping, tomato stuffing, eggplant frying, apple baking and chicken simmering. Discussions were lively, dynamic (this is Washington!) and continued as we sipped wine, savored our many dishes with a Washington panorama stretching out below.
Guests George and Linda wrote this note”
“Thanks for a great evening. We felt like we were back in Italy.”
I did, too, Kathy and Steve. Seems like yesterday we sipped wines and great food in Spello together.
