When you return to Italy, celebrate the event by meeting a national treasure of Italy: the rural people. Come along with me to our rural friends who taught Pino and me how to work the land, raise farm animals – and about what counts in life.

• learn the secrets of a rural torta bread baked by Peppa on her woodstove.
• hear Giuseppa’s curious Umbria folklore tale as we taste her tagliatelle.
• share in a rural banquet that Chiarina and Marino often host for my tour guests, serving up foods they raised.
• hunt truffles with Renato (he knows where to find them!)
