“A picture is worth a thousand words”, the saying goes. Jackie and Gina proved it: a display of their Rural Life Revisited tour photos (last October with me in Umbria) launched their Parker CO cooking class.
Hostess Jackie talked about their ” unforgettable day” with our rural neighbors, backdropped by the photos of our farm friends. Her talk made me feel like I was back in Umbria again while introducing our group to the goodness of our region and to the people who cook the goodness.
After Jackie’s chat, I talked about our menu, Umbrian rural cuisine, the Mediterranean diet – and a timely Denver Post article on the benefits of the diet. And then, aprons on and into the kitchen with knives and cutting boards in hand. Peppa, Chiarina, Gentile and Olga – highlights of Jackie and Gina’s rural life experience – would have loved joining in, leading us on.
They were there in spirit.
…and mille grazie, Jackie and Gina, for sharing your love of Umbria with the wonderful women who so enthusiastically put on our feast.
This group’s enthusiasm lives on in their comments:
“I loved you the first time I heard you speaking in Assisi . Thank you so much for coming to my home and meeting my special friends. …The dinner tonight and the energy you created was fabulous!” Jackie G
“Great seeing you again and give my love to Peppa, my favorite – after you!” Gina B.

Hello
Please let us know if you will visit Colorado or want to plan an event. Four couples in Boulder own a place in Spoleto near Piazza del Mercato and visit regularly , and another family owns a place there too. So your visit could create a nice event perhaps for all! Thanks!!!
Ciao! Jerry
I was in Colorado end of FEb this year and hope to be back same time frame next year…..or..come to dinner our Assisi farmhouse prior!
Best,
Anne
