What makes “a magical night”? Diane and Bill know: “Whenever friends and food come together, it is a magical night,” they wrote to me at the end of our bellissimo McLean VA. cooking class, hosted by Marget and Steve.
“Thank you for your inspiring words,” they continued in their note, referring to my pre-cooking class talk on Umbria, Umbrian rural cuisine and the farm friends who taught us not just about working the land, cooking Umbrian goodness…but about life.
So good to cook and share stories with such a delightful McLean group, many of whom had already “met” me via my notes on Italian Notebook: “I so enjoyed the evening of cooking and conversation…..always recognize ‘your voice’ in Italian Notebook,” Gail wrote me at the end of our class.
Mille grazie to Marget (and Steve) for opening their home so warmly to us all and thanks to each of you who teamed so harmoniously to create our Umbrian feast.
