Al Bianchi – self-declared (with a grin) “sex symbol” of the Four Vegas – urged me to try a selfie when i asked the group for a photo after their Umbria Jazz show. Here’s the result:
Four young Roman musicians – united by a shared passione for sounds and lifestyles of the 1950’s and 1960’s – formed their band in 1999 and their renditions of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Otis Redding, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard gets the crowd rockin’ whenever they’re on at Umbria Jazz, Perugia. Joshua, an Englishman in his late 30’s with Down’s syndrome joined older Italian women in the rockin’ and rollin’ as Four Vegas singer Al Bianchi crooned Elvis (while combing his pompadour!), boomed an Otis Redding’s hit and then led his band into a “Twist and Shout” which got everyone moving.
And backing him up, Fabio and Manuel on guitars, Gino on drums and Dario on piano were clearly having as great a time as the crowd. I sat at a picnic table with the bands’ family members, all there to cheer on their boys – and in some cases, to rock to the music: drummer Gino’s father-in-law danced to the music with Gino’s six-month old son in his arms as the Four Vegas took on the Beachboys.
Good vibrations? That’s one way to put it!

Anne I know that you were having so much fun with the music of the 50’s and 60’s. Send those guys to us at Bethany Beach , DE. We had a similar group called the Dialtones perform here last week at our beach bandstand. As we enjoy , we mustalso pray for peace in the mideast. So sad.
They would certainly be a HIT!
Have their CD and it’s often on in the car.
