Jane, mille grazie for your “arrivederci” note to us which started with “your hospitality made this trip special for us! We are fortunate to have 91-year-old dad, Will, with us – and staying here, having dinner, visiting with you made him comfortable and all of us charmed!”
Well, Will certainly charmed both of us. And Pino was so pleased that Will enjoyed the pasta dish he’d cooked up with Umbrian wild mushrooms, peas, a bit of guanciale (pork cheek):
…and happy that you, Jane, and Stu, also enjoyed dinner with us.
And Jane, at a sprightly ninety-one, your papa’ Will added enthusiastic and sparky input to our hilltown tours in Assisi….

In that medieval gem, grazie a Dio for the mayor our tour group met during our explorations. Mayor Annarita Falsacappa opened (literally) doors for us on temporarily-closed treasures of Bevagna:
