We always enjoy having our apartment guests to dinner in our Assisi farmhouse. But Ann and Warren – staying in our Nido Tranquillo apartment for a month- actually paid for their dinner, as did we all that night. Well, it was a benefit dinner: the funds we collected went for the rebuilding of the Amatrice school after the August 24, 2016 earthquake.
With another apartment guest, Mike (staying in our countryside apartment, Casa dell’Arco), Ann and Warren even helped in cooking preparations, table set-up.
And tall Warren, glad you were here to help pick the figs for our prosciutto/fig antipasto: you were able to nab the last ones on the top branches.
So good to share so many memorable September moments with you – and wonderful to have you so fully participate in the “Assisi-Amatrice” link.
Mille grazie for the note you left us:
“Your apartment was everything we hoped it would be: it always felt like home when we entered. We take wonderful memories of our month here. Tours, friends, Internet(!) and all the food..!”
Come back soon.

Visiting Assisi in 2014 for what was to be a 7 day visit before a 7 day visit to the the Almalfi Coast I came across Anne Robichaud of Annes Italy by accident and lets just say… my seven day visit to Assisi turned into 14 days and Almalfi was out. And its all Anns fault. Funny, Patience, Quirky, Compassionate, Kind, Welcoming, Interesting, Knowledgeable and Passionate about everything Umbrian… So.. that being said upon my next visit in Oct, 2016 where else to stay than at Anns country Cottage “Casa dell’ Arco , which is located next door to her Umbrian farmhouse.
Such an experience to see how rural Umbrians live on a daily basis. Located not to far from the town of Assisi, my stay at Casa dell ‘Arco was relaxing and gave me a sense of security and comfort knowing Anne and her husband Pino were very close at hand to help with planning, directions, recommendations and/or suggestions. Always willing to help and guide one through their Umbrian experience, which by the way starts off upon arrival with some Fresh Umbrian edible goodies ready and laid out on your table when you arrive as well as a bottle of fine wine…Dont be surprised too hear a knock on your door to find Ann with home cooked Umbrian fare for your lunch or dinner.
I could go on and on and on…. about the virtues and pleasures of staying with Anne and Pino at their country farm. Truly a rewarding experience that i will remember for many years too come.
Ciao
