Coming Back to an Assisi Countryside Apartment

Mille grazie, Paul and Shira, for your arrivederci note to us just before leaving here in November.

And little, Alma, your drawings of our cats, Miga (your favorite!), Giulia and Muzio will always be treasured. Your three kitties are smiling as if already anticipating your return:

For days after your departure, Miga sat on the patio near your apartment, gazing forlornly at the door, hoping you’d come out….

…so that once again, she’d have your company:

Arturo and his goat brood miss your visits to them, too:

………and of course, our Maremanno sheepdog, Lamone. misses your company ……

….as does our other dog, Selva.

Remember the treat you and your mother gave to Lamone as you were all leaving?

Paul and Shira, we’re grateful for your message: “We have had such a wonderful stay from your kindness to the amazing animals to the olive trees and lovely kitty visits! We wish we could stay longer and explore more…“

Alma, just before you left, I was glad to give you my yellow “Io sono una sardina” balloon (from the recent Perugia sardine gathering). It simply had to go to someone special:

I’m hoping that it brought you a bit of a smile as you all on (I was glad to see it in the car next to you). Pino sends his best – and remembers wishing to cheer you up that day…

I hope the Kinder chocolate egg helped a bit:

Just remember, Alma, that “arrivederci” means “until we see each other again.”
