Whether you stay in our in-town Assisi apartment or our countryside guesthouse (right behind our farmhouse), there are a couple obligations:
– you have to join us for a rural Umbrian dinner in our farmhouse
– you must accept gifts of fresh eggs from our chickens, vegetables from our garden – and now and then, dishes I cook up and want you to try
– you must let me introduce you as fully as I can to Umbria’s treasures – and that includes the people!

Therese wrote me:
“Anne, thank you so much for being our guide for the past four days through Umbria. Your house is beautiful, your family is lovely and dinner was fantastic! This has truly been the trip of a lifetime. Hope to see you for cooking again in Scottsdale!”
Marc put it this way:
“My wife and I visited Assisi and several other of the charming hillside towns in the province of Umbria, including; Gubbio, Orvietto, Spello, and Deruta with Anne. We also had the privilege of staying at her farm outside of Assisi in a quaint, comfortable and beautiful apartment in a one-of-a kind setting.
We have always toured with a guide. We have had several, and Anne is the best by far. Not only is she an encyclopedia of knowledge, she is always pointing out this thing or that and in the midst she interpserses her comments with stories, anecdotes and memories. Beyond this, she is so courteous and friendly that you get another bonus of interacting with other locals. We were even invited into the home of complete strangers to share in their local celebration and customs.

We are so thrilled to return to Assisi to stay in Anne and Pino’s wonderful guest house. Best month of our lives last August!
