This year, Calendimaggio, Assisi’s stunning medieval festival, animates our town with splendid pageantry on May 3, 4, 5, 6.

But preparations enliven the winding medieval backstreets for weeks (months!) before – with culmination of the feverish preparations just a few days before. In medieval dress, assisani of all ages will bring alive scenes of medieval life and medieval artisan crafts.

…and Gina has always been in the midst of Calendimaggio preparations, an integral part. Helping out in preparations and often in costume during the festival.

But Gina is over ninety now and living in the home of her son, kilometers from Assisi.
We’ll miss you, Gina.
