Not all alum “gift” their school (in this case, Clarion University of Pennsylvannia) with a tandem of Italian food-focussed events. But that’s what Frank did in Malvern, Pennsylvannia. On my first night there, I gave my talk on Italian gestures, “Italians, HANDS ON!” at the Chester Valley Golf Club after we all enjoyed an array of tasty antipastos prepared by chef Mike. And the Umbrian wines were not missing (thanks to Frank!): Grechetto for those opting for white and Montefalco rosso for the vino rosso- lovers. Dessert? Amaretti and biscotti baked by Frank and Sharon.
…and those amaretti starred in our dessert the following night, where Frank and Sharon hosted an Italian cooking class for Clarion staff.
Mille grazie, Sharon and Frank. How good to return to Malvern to celebrate Italy with you once again – and this time with a “Clarion connection.” Clarion faculty and alum now seem ready for a future trip to Italy: at least they’ll be able to communicate (even without Italian!).
It’s all in the hands.
Grazie mille to Annie for a wonderful evening! Our great staff at Chester Valley (special thanks to Chef Mike and Andrew!) did a super job too! Everyone had an Eagletastic time (to use a phrase President Whitney coined)!!
