Pino’s reconstruction team works hard – and as a unit. Now and then, they can team to feast, too!
Late in June, Pino’s crew paused in the restoration work of tiny hill town gem, Giove.
They set up a grill in the village center and before long, goat meat (goats raised by Pino), sausages, and pork ribs were sizzling. Soon, a smoky billow drifted in front of the restored limestone walls and medieval arches over the doorways. Pino’s stonemasons took turns flipping the meat, forking the sausages to see if ready and serving up wine.
…and what flavor: Toto’ had seasoned the meat with olive oil, salt and rosemary:
Buonissimo!
Just ask Giovonne who joined us to feast (after an Umbrian hill town tour with me):
Giove’s restoration is now almost complete.
I wonder if they’ll celebrate the conclusion of this Impresa Alagna masterpiece with another feast?

Hi Anne,
thank you for showing us this side of restoration efforts – the power that comes from love and compassion for others.
