“To think something wonderful like this happened in Lovettsville,“ wrote Carol after our cooking class in Holly and Andy’s 19th-century farmhouse in the Virginia countryside. Mille grazie, Carol, for this reflection, too: “The best evening ever, Anne – you are just so enthusiastic that it is contagious and makes this whole experience fun, fun, fun. so charming… Please come back again.” Carol, I would love to come back!
…and you can see Carol in the photo above on the left, front row.
Holly, thanks so much for hosting this delightful evening (and Andy, thanks for letting our animated group “invade” your lovely farmhouse). Holly, mamma mia, a long stretch for our ties: from a San Francisco shoe store years ago to your months living with us in Assisi – and now, to seeing you again blossoming with un-bambino-on-the-way. Che bello!
So glad that you, too, enjoyed our time together: “Amazing!… a beautiful event… food cooked and filled with laughter, love and passion. The fun spilled over late into the evening and continued on to become a farmhouse slumber party!”
Cara, enjoyed hearing about your Sicilian heritage and thanks for the help on “pre-prepping” our cooking class.
“Very enjoyable evening! I so enjoyed meeting Anne and learning about life in Italy. The food was absolutely delicious…” Cara
Here’s Cara in action:

Do meet Lynette:
Jenn, glad you were part of our group, along with husband and “birthday boy,” Hugh.
Your insightful comment appreciated:

..and here’s Jenn
Hugh, the only man in the group, you held your ground well! Enjoyed your note: “A most wonderful evening from Holly and Andy. I’m the birthday boy and a very welcome treat. Anne is very personable and funny…”
And here’s Hugh:
Anne F., hope we can cook again next year and glad you were part of the group. Thanks for your thoughts:
“Breaking bread – getting centered – cheers – tougher, (we) thrive!” Anne F.
You can see Anne F. here:
Liz, glad you enjoyed the food (as you wrote to me after the class) but then again, you certainly contributed to the goodness we cooked up: your sausages added a flavorful touch to our butternut squash dish.
Here’s Liz’ comment: “Excellent food, wine and company. Couldn’t ask for a more wonderful way to spend time with Italian cuisine!”
…and here’s the butternut squash simmering with the sausage (from the hogs Liz and her husband raise at Spring House Farm):
Mille grazie to each of you for uniting together as we cooked the irresistible flavors of rural Umbria.
May we do it again soon.

Oh, Annie! You have cast your beautiful spell on another group of lovely folks! The food looks absolutely to die for and the smiles, laughter & joy are almost palpable right thru my pc. So happy you had such a great time sharing your cooking knowledge & expertise. I think you lead a very charmed life! I have to admit I was a bit envious, wishing I was there to enjoy your company & great Umbrian cuisine with fellow enthusiasts. Enjoy your remaining events.
