“Five years, six classes – plus the one I was wait-listed on myself. Every year is better than the last. Keep coming back!” Kathy wrote after this year’s D.C. class.
…and Kathy (and Steve), remember that year you hosted two classes in your apartment (to take in all the requests coming to me for cooking lesson spots)? As for many other D.C. area hosts this year, you also had quite a wait-list for our 2015 class in your DC apartment.
Glad you made it into the class, Stephanie!
…and Stephanie, thanks for your note to me, end of this memorable class (was this your third class with me?):
“Many thanks to Kathy and Steve and to Annie for another wonderful exploration of Italian cooking….always lovely to hear about the traditions associated with Italian cooking. And I enjoyed meeting new people and hearing about the connections to Italy or to Anne. I look forward to future classes and to seeing Anne in Italy.” (and so good to cook with you once again!) Stephanie
Dori, happy you made it off the wait-list and into the class, too! And once again, Italian Notebook is the link: so glad my Notebook stories enticed you into cooking together:
“Luck was on my side today: I was privileged tp attend the fabulous dinner and meet a woman I so adore.” Dori
Susan, good to cook with you again, too – and thanks so much for bringing your niece, Amelia, to join in the good times. Mille grazie to you both for your comments:
“Another fabulous dinner and cooking class – thank you so much to Anne and our hosts, Kathy and Steve! I learned many good cooking tips and met your wonderful friends. A great evening!” Susan
“Thank you for the delicious food and cooking tips! You’re an inspiration…” Amelia
And you are right, Kathy : your classes keep getting better and better every year. You always group an interesting array of enthusiastic cooks and I so enjoy hearing about their “non-cooking” lives during dinner, when each guest is asked to tell about themselves as we share our Umbrian feast.
(Note: We’ve done the round-the-table introductions at every class this year. A highlight for me at every event!)
Good to meet you all and may we link up again soonest – and while cooking and eating, if possible!
Laura, glad to have you join in for your note:
“Thank you for the lovely Italian evening! I had been missing Italy recently… The meal was delicious!…”
Shelly and Al, thanks for joining in:
Fernando, thanks for all your help at the burners! And glad we surprised you with the goodness: “Great food! Unexpected…”
Julie, so good to meet you and learn about your most interesting job! I’m happy you enjoyed your evening: “Fantastic way to get an appreciation of Italy and Italian food.”
Tom, glad we brought back “culinary memories” of your Italian nonna to you: “The frittata looked tasted exactly like those of my Italian grandmother from Benevento!”
And good to meet your wife, Karen, too. Karen, thanks so much for joining in and for your note:
“…alot of fun (and) we learned some nice cooking tricks. Thank you from two travelers who love food!” Karen
Karen and Tom, know French food is your terrain. But glad you joined with us all for our “visit to Umbria” for an evening.
Many thanks to each of you!
