Sadie and Nick, So good to have you stay with us in November in our Assisi farmhouse – and glad you joined us at Peppa’s, feasting on her Umbrian rural cooking. A night to remember, no?
And so was Academy Awards night with Sadie’s family and friends, uniting in an “Oscar of a cooking class” in Lagunitas. Sadie, Nick, what better way, after all, to re-unite here in the US than through cooking together Umbrian rural cuisine once again? (And who ever thought we could match our 2011 Lagunitas event?)
An award-winning class. Son Daley certainly won for Best Pizza-maker with both Nick and young Romano tying for the Best Supporting Pizza-maker Oscar (with a strong supporting cast, joining to work the dough)
Howie starred as Best Ricotta-maker with husband Dave walking away with Best Griller Ever award (what pork roasts!).
Hard to know if Best Antipasto Cook Oscar should go to Wendy, Mike, Susie or Gary (why not to all?) and Sadie took home the Onion-dicing Oscar (with both she and Nick walking off with Most Gracious Hosts statuettes).
Andrew took home Best Slicer/Dicer for his work on many a dish, while Sam, Lyda, Catherine and Torri ranked among Best Apple-Corers.
….just to mention a few of our “award-winning” guests and cooks.
Thanks to you all for joining in an Academy night to remember, highlighted in the photos below.
